We hold the deepest gratitude, love, trust and respect for Angelica. We simply cannot imagine a version of our homebirth story without her; her guidance and support; her knowledge and expertise; her warmth, kindness, and light-hearted nature were monumental for our safe and healing physiological birth at home. We are first time parents; Angelica educated us, listened to us, honored our needs and desires for our birth plan and she kept us completely at ease with every necessary pivot when our labour paved its own course, as labour tends to do. She helped us to focus and to surrender when labour got tough; she held us up when we were exhausted beyond measure; and above all she kept us laughing. Angelica also supported me physically, quite literally, in the final throws of active labour, countering the weight of my body with her own; guiding me surge by surge until our little one arrived; because of Angelica I felt safe, unbelievably supported, and ultimately stronger and empowered. Anyone would be so lucky to have Angelica as their Doula and partner in their birth story. We certainly thank our lucky stars we found our way to each other.
